Moving in Switzerland
Stages of International Moving
Assessment & Planning
We assess your moving needs based on a video assessment or an on-site visit, after which we finalize the moving contract. We handle street area reservations, logistics arrangements, and customs clearance when necessary.
Packing & Protection
Our professionals carefully protect your home's surfaces and furniture, and pack your entire belongings into boxes. We bring all the necessary packing materials with us, so you don't have to worry about a thing.
Loading & Transportation
We load your belongings efficiently and safely into the moving truck. Transport is handled with our eco-friendly fleet, whether the destination is Stockholm or Zurich. You can track the progress of the journey via a GPS tracking link.
Unpacking & Finishing touches
In your new home, we remove all protections, assemble your furniture, and place your belongings exactly where you want them. We also take care of unpacking the boxes and take all packing materials with us when we leave.
Move to Switzerland
Switzerland maintains its position as the top destination for KunnonMuutto, and it’s no wonder – great job opportunities and breathtaking landscapes attract a diverse range of achievers!
What is a Full-Service Move
First, our representative will visit your home for an on-site evaluation or conduct a video assessment to understand your specific moving needs. After that, we’ll begin making the necessary preparations, such as arranging parking permits. For apartments larger than 40 m², we typically allocate two to three days for the move.
Before the move, we’ll collect any items destined for recycling or waste disposal (e.g., Sortti stations) to clear them out of the way. We can also provide a box or boxes for your most personal belongings, which we will not touch.
Day 1: Packing and Protection
On the first moving day, we pack your belongings and protect your furniture. KunnonMuutto supplies all the required boxes and protective materials, taking care of both packing and safeguarding. In addition to furniture, we protect pathways and other sensitive surfaces in your home.
Day 2: Moving Day
Then, it’s time to move! The items are loaded into the truck and transported to their destination – whether it’s in Switzerland, Finland, or elsewhere! Once your old home is empty, our cleaning team will perform a thorough final cleaning.
At the new location, we unpack your belongings and place them exactly where you want (even color-coded into cabinets, if requested!). We’ll also remove all packing and protective materials when we leave.
Whatever you and your move require, we’re here to meet your needs!
Customer experiences
FAQ – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does moving to Switzerland work?
We start by assessing your individual needs based on your quote request or a free video call. Once we understand the scope of your move, we’ll send you a detailed info package tailored for international relocations, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. You can also check out our international moving checklist for helpful tips!
After you accept our offer, we begin planning your move – arranging parking permits, filling out customs paperwork, and handling all the other logistics. Meanwhile, you can relax and explore the restaurant scene in your new hometown.
How much does a move to Switzerland cost?
The cost of an international move is based on volume and any additional services. A more affordable move is possible if your schedule is flexible and your shipment can be combined with others, but we’re also happy to organize your move exactly when it suits you. You can view example prices [here].
How should I pack when moving to Switzerland?
In short: all belongings must be packed securely into boxes suitable for stacking. Plastic bins and bags are not recommended. If you’re unsure, our professionals are happy to help – and of course, we highly recommend booking our packing service for maximum ease and safety.
What documents do I need when moving to Switzerland?
For every international move, we prepare a moving contract, inventory list, and waybill. For moves requiring customs clearance, we’ll provide you with a complete list of required documents – and we’re happy to handle the customs process on your behalf.
Can I track the shipment during the move?
Absolutely! KunnonMuutto transports your belongings in our own vehicle with your own dedicated driver – unless otherwise agreed (for example, if items are temporarily stored abroad by one of our trusted partners). We’ll provide a GPS tracking link, so you can follow the truck in real time during the move.
How should I prepare for the movers' arrival?
Make sure your belongings are packed as instructed, ensure clear and easy access for our truck and team, and protect your home’s surfaces – unless you’ve booked those services with us.
